This young family of five knew exactly what they wanted and needed in their home … a comfortable, colorful and welcoming space that would function well for their busy lifestyle. They also wanted it to reflect their fun-loving personalities and accommodate large gatherings of family and friends who are constantly assembling there.
Seating was a priority, and the more the better! We added storage ottomans that can double as seating, additional swivel club chairs and comfortable upholstered captain’s chairs in the adjacent dining room that can easily be moved into the living area for overflow seating.
Our client loves to mix color and pattern, so Fluff Interior Design brought in modern curtain panels and a mixture of interesting and colorful pillows. We tied it together with a coral, flat-weave wool rug with a Moroccan vibe. Because the curtains and rug make such a strong statement in the room, we kept the art and accessories to a minimum.
We added tons of texture to the space with woven Roman shades and a wicker ottoman with a distressed wood top. The gray, navy and coral color palette feels both current and timeless. The playful, pretty, and personalized touches were just what this house needed to make it as fabulous and fun as the family who lives there.
